Hyderabad: The Future City Police Commissionerate Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted a raid at a milk adulteration unit in Pocharam village under Ibrahimpatnam police station limits and apprehended a person for allegedly adulterating milk with hydrogen peroxide and milk powder.
The apprehended person was identified as Ande Srishailam (43), a milk businessman and a resident of Pocharam village, Ibrahimpatnam Mandal.
According to police, the accused was allegedly mixing hydrogen peroxide with Dholpur milk powder and supplying the adulterated milk to customers in Hyderabad, posing a potential risk to public health.
During the raid, police seized 100 litres of suspected adulterated milk, one litre of hydrogen peroxide and 35 packets of Dholpur milk powder each weighing one kg. The SOT team handed over the apprehended person and seized material to Ibrahimpatnam police station for further legal action.
