Mumbai On Alert After Bomb Threat To BSE, Amitabh’s Bungalow

Mumbai was placed on alert on Friday after a bomb threat email targeting the Bombay High Court, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, Jalsa, triggered security concerns across the city.

The threatening email warned of explosions at the prominent locations, prompting Mumbai Police and other security agencies to launch an investigation and conduct thorough security checks.

Police searched the locations but found nothing suspicious. Authorities later confirmed the threat to be a hoax, according to reports. Officials are examining the email and attempting to identify the person behind it.

This is the second such threat targeting Bachchan in recent weeks. On October 23, the actor, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde and Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi reportedly received a threat email warning of a grenade attack at a school on October 31 and threatening to target Bachchan’s Juhu residence between October 31 and November 27.

The earlier email also threatened an attack during singer Diljit Dosanjh’s November 27 concert in the Mahalaxmi Racecourse area. Following the threat, Bachchan changed his customary Sunday interaction with fans outside his residence and greeted them from behind a transparent bulletproof enclosure installed on an elevated platform.

Security agencies remain on alert as the police continue their investigation into the latest threat.
