A week after the birdie-fest at TPC Craig Ranch, the conditions at Colonial Country Club were a bit different. As Russell Henley hoisted the trophy Sunday evening in Forth Worth, just 10 players on the leaderboard finished the week double-digits under par.
Henley led the way at 12 under, and he was joined by journeyman Eric Cole, which forced a sudden-death playoff. In the end, Henley’s birdie on the first extra hole was enough to earn him his sixth PGA Tour victory.
For his efforts, the 37-year-old walks away from the week $1.782 million richer. And although Cole was unable to break through for his maiden Tour victory, his consolation prize comes in the form of a check worth just over $1 million of his own.
