Hyderabad: The government has announced a 25 per cent discount rebate on fees under the Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS), valid from May 1 to July 31. The offer applies to those who applied for LRS in 2020, but were yet to clear their dues.
The municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department issued orders confirming the concession. Officials said that the rebate was aimed at encouraging people to pay pending amounts within the given time. Officials believed that the discount would help speed up the regularisation process across the state, and urged applicants to make use of the limited-time benefit and avoid missing the deadline.
The LRS is a government initiative designed to bring unapproved and illegal layouts into the formal planning system. By regularising those plots, owners can obtain legal status for their land. This also makes them eligible for building permissions and ensures smoother property transactions in the future.
