At least eight workers were killed and several others injured in a major accident at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant after a ladle carrying molten steel reportedly exploded, leading to a leak of superheated metal. The incident sparked panic at the site, with employees rushing to safety as emergency teams moved in to contain the situation and control the fire.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha spoke to the district collector and the city police commissioner to review the situation and seek details about the accident. According to her office, she directed officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and expedite rescue and relief operations. The minister also rushed to the accident site and has been closely monitoring the response while issuing instructions to officials.
