Suriya is making headlines for his upcoming film, Vishwanath & Sons. The movie stars Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and others. According to reports, the film is all set to release on August 14, 2026. The movie beautifully combines romance with family drama. The upcoming film will feature an age-gap romance between Suriya and Mamitha. Amid the buzz surrounding the rom-com movie, have a look at the early reviews.
What to expect in Vishwanath & Sons?
Vishwanath & Sons is currently in focus. The story follows ‘Sanjay’, a wealthy man whose life takes a dramatic turn when his son needs a bone marrow transplant. To search for a suitable donor, ‘Sanjay’ travels abroad. During his journey, he meets a young woman named ‘Maddy’ (played by Mamitha). Later, she becomes the surrogate mother to ‘Sanjay’s’ child.

Things change unexpectedly when ‘Maddy’ confesses her love to ‘Sanjay’. Back in April 2026, Mamitha Baiju sat for a candid conversation with Sudhir Srinivasan. During the conversation, she talked about the age difference in the film, which is not a common story in movies, and that is why it caught her attention. She said, “I found it fresh when I heard the story first.”
Mamitha mentioned the film does not keep bringing up the age gap again and again, but it is still an important part of the story. During a promotional event, Suriya spoke about love and relationships and explained how they work in the film, Vishwanath & Sons. According to Suriya, love should be everlasting. He explained that love is not something that should be felt when a person gets married, but one should love every single day.
Even if a person spends 20 years with someone, they must keep on loving their partner and should be respectful towards them. Suriya mentioned that priorities of a person changes with time, and so does their partner. But the love and affection that a person has for their loved one should never change.

Vishwanath & Sons early review
A critic took to their X (formerly Twitter) handle and wrote, “Vishwanath & Sons – Review. Suriya, who impressed us as Sanjay Ramaswamy in Ghajini, once again delivers a brilliant performance as Sanjay Viswanath. The family drama between Suriya, Radhika, and Mamitha Baiju in the first half is very good. Most importantly, Mamitha Baiju looks fresh, energetic, and perfectly suits her character. The second half gives us emotional vibes reminiscent of Attarintiki Daredi and Mr Perfect, while the director brings a fresh treatment to the story.”
Calling the film a must-watch, the critic continued, “Director Venky Atluri, after Lucky Baskhar, has come up with a fresh story in Viswanath & Sons and has written the dialogues and screenplay brilliantly. Sithara Entertainments, produced by Naga Vamsi, has made the film on a very rich scale. After a long time, this is a film with strong family emotions that can genuinely bring tears to the audience’s eyes. A must-watch film for the entire family. Rating – 3.75/5.”
Another critic penned, “#VishwanathAndSons is a winner through and through. A true family entertainer that will appeal to each and every one, across all age groups. You will have a smile throughout the runtime, and you will shed a tear at places. Each and everyone deliver a banger on screen and off it. Bringing back the glory of true blue family entertainers to the big screen.”
