Married At First Sight Australia’s Jacqui and Clint have officially tied the knot in a real life ceremony
Fans have rallied behind a Married At First Sight Australia couple who have genuinely walked down the aisle, despite never being partnered on the programme.
UK audiences are currently gripped by the 13th series of the popular reality show, as the surviving couples edge towards their ultimate commitment ceremonies. The unique format sees complete strangers meeting for the first time at the altar, having previously been matched by experts, and drama is never in short supply.
Off-screen, two past participants have revealed they’ve actually got married – properly this time – even though they weren’t initially matched during their stint on Married At First Sight.
Fans will recall Jacqui Burfoot from the previous series of MAFS Australia, who had originally been coupled with Ryan Donnelly. Following a turbulent run, the pair called it quits after a heated final vows showdown.
Jacqui later left her followers speechless by revealing she’d since fallen for Clint Rice, who had previously been matched with Lauren Hall on the programme, reports OK!
Breaking the news about their romance, Jacqui shared on Instagram: “Surprise! Yes we are officially together!! Here are snippets of what you missed over the past 5 months before mafs aired!”
She continued: “We had our first date in November 2024 and I never left Tassie – we have been travelling around NZ and in Tassie In between filming and airing!” Having announced their engagement in April 2025, the couple have now made it official, sharing their joyous news with followers on Instagram.
In a joint post, the pair unveiled a breath-taking photograph from their big day, captioned simply: “Married, 20 April 2026 [heart emoji].”
According to nine.com, the couple exchanged vows at a ceremony overlooking Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand’s South Island.
Fans were quick to flood the comments with warm wishes. One wrote: “Congratulations to you both stay blessed.” Another gushed: “You look absolutely beautiful, congratulations to the both of you.”
A third offered: “Huge congratulations Mr and Mrs Rice. Many blessings as you both walk into the sunset, holding hands and shining with your love for each other.”
While a fourth added: “Wishing you both huge congrats I have watched your love story and can see you are two genuine people who are doing life beautifully together and I wish you both the best.”
The couple first announced their engagement last April, while their reunion episode was being broadcast. During a private screening, Clint got down on one knee to propose, leaving onlookers gobsmacked.
One follower had previously remarked on Instagram: “Ignore the haters, Jackie(I’m sure you do already). You both seem so happy, and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters!”
While another had written: “You do look happy together so I wish you well! I didn’t like how you came across on mafs… but I’m trying to be kind and non judgemental, as I believe all is not as it seems, especially where media is concerned. Take care.” A third fan wrote: “Genuinely love these two together.”
Having previously taken to social media to reveal details about their romance, Jacqui captioned her posts: “Unhinged and totally unnecessary” alongside a series of snaps.
