Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Ashton Gillotte and Indy Ignite player Cara Cresse tied the knot in an intimate ceremony Saturday after getting engaged in February.
The newlyweds announced the good news in a joint Instagram post, sharing that they plan to have another wedding celebration with their loved ones next May.
“Surprise! We got married!” they wrote, including photos of their wedding day by Liv Coke, a Kentucky-based photographer.
“We had our dear families alongside us for the sweetest ceremony and celebration. Our new favorite day! Can’t wait to celebrate with even more of our loved ones next May! Mr. & Mrs. Gillotte. 05.23.2026.”
Cresse wore a white dress and a short veil with lace trimming.
Gillotte donned a beige suit and his long hair was tied in a ponytail.
They were wed under an arch with different colored flowers in an outdoor ceremony that overlooked a golf course.
It came after they announced their engagement Feb. 3.
Both attended the University of Louisville and played their respective sport for the Cardinals.
The University’s football and volleyball teams congratulated the couple in a joint Instagram post Thursday, including a snapshot of them on their wedding day.
Gillotte and Cresse celebrated one year together on Feb. 11.
Cresse, who spent the 2026 season with the Indy Ignite, re-signed with the team on Wednesday.
“Said ‘I do’ to us, too,” the team captioned an Instagram post sharing the news with a ring emoji.
She ranks fourth in Cardinal history with 517 total blocks over her career.
Gillotte is entering his second season with the Chiefs after he was selected by Kansas City with the 66th pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.
