Even though most recently, before her passing, she wanted to stay at her home, she couldn’t, as it was necessary for her to be shifted to hospice. Her brother, Austin, recently shared her final moments before her passing, and according to him, she was actually at peace.
Sydney Towle’s brother, Austin, recently sat for an interview with PEOPLE and revealed that his sister had to be in hospice. According to him, the decision to move her there was needed for ‘making her comfortable’. She couldn’t stay at her home because of the pain it would have caused. Before her passing, in one of her videos, Sydney revealed that the oncologist who was giving her treatment refused to do so and asked her to move to end-of-life care.
Sydney then switched to a new specialist. During that time, she was in the process of enrolling in a clinical trial involving tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy, as reported. And only one week later, she walked at Miami Beach Week. It’s a moment of accomplishment for Sydney, and that’s what her brother continued to remind her. In the recent interview, Austin said that it’s rare for people with stage 4 cancer to walk the ramp. Sharing that his sister was amazing, Austin said:
“[During] the last few days, she was alive, but she was pretty comatose. But we were surrounding her and telling her a bunch of stories, and I was like, ‘How many people can say they were battling stage 4 cancer while they were walking down the runway?’ She was awesome.”
In the same interview, Sydney Towle’s brother, Austin, mentioned that when doctors told her that she needed to be in the hospice, she didn’t fight the situation; rather, she accepted that, and she was at peace as well. According to Austin, Sydney was exhausted to the point that she was left with no option but to accept it as it was. Austin further revealed that people should never give up, adding that his sister had such a strong mindset and didn’t lose hope. Speaking more about the same, he mentioned:
“She just kept fighting. So I want people to know that it’s never over until it’s over. Don’t give up hope, no matter what. She never did. Not literally until she physically, mentally, emotionally — everything — couldn’t anymore.”

When Sydney was in her early 20s, she was diagnosed with cancer. Following this, Sydney started documenting her life and treatment journey with her fans on social media. For the last three years, Sydney went through several treatments.
