Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) will organise World Tourism Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam on September 27 under the theme “Technology and Artificial Intelligence Innovations in the Tourism Sector.”
Tourism department divisional manager G. Jagadish said the day-long programme aims to create awareness among students and the public about the growing role of emerging technologies in the tourism industry.
The celebrations will begin with a Heritage Walk at 6.30 am from the Old Town Hall near the Fishing Harbour.
The walk will highlight Visakhapatnam’s historical landmarks, architectural heritage and cultural significance.
The main event will be held at Dronamraju Circle in Siripuram from 5.30 pm.
It will feature exhibitions demonstrating the use of technology and artificial intelligence in tourism, student awareness programmes, innovative displays and cultural performances.
Sessions will focus on the future of artificial intelligence in tourism, technological advancements in the sector and career opportunities for students.
Winners of various competitions will also be felicitated during the programme.
