KAKINADA: Temples Protection Samithi Convener D.N. Ramesh has urged Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh to develop natural tourism sites along the coast from Chollangi Revu to Antarvedi in Konaseema district, by restoration of bathing ghats etc.
In a representation submitted to the minister, he said there must be necessary infrastructure for devotees and tourists by the time of the upcoming Godavari pushkaralu-2027.
It highlighted the historical, spiritual and ecological significance of the coastal areas, river confluences, mangrove forests and islands stretching from Chollangi Revu to Antarvedi. He suggested introducing tourist boats to showcase the coastal beauty and the unique features of the mangrove forests to visitors.
He requested the government to develop Hope Island, a naturally formed island off the coast, into a major tourism hub and explore the possibility of providing tourism facilities through air travel in addition to boat services along the coast.
