Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has fixed September 28 as the last date for receiving objections to draft caste-wise voter lists for SC, ST, women and BC categories ahead of the forthcoming municipal elections.
VMC commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra said the draft lists, released on September 26, were available for public scrutiny at the VMC headquarters, circle offices, tahsildar offices, the Collectorate and RDO offices.
Citizens can verify their names, caste and other particulars and submit objections at a special counter at the VMC headquarters between 10.30 am and 5 pm on September 28.
No objections will be accepted after the deadline.
Officials will conduct field-level verification on September 29 and 30 and examine the objections.
The final voter lists are scheduled to be released on October 1, 2026.
