In the lengthy note, Divya shared her thoughts and wrote about how, after watching the spectacle unfold, she could not keep to herself.
She then went on to discuss the position women hold in Indian society, recalling how back in the day, they were treated as inferior to men. However, over the years, women have done their best to become independent, educated, and live life on their own terms. But despite women’s progress in society, what is happening on social media has led Divya to question all of it.
Pointing to Govinda and Sunita’s marriage, Divya highlighted how the actor has been a favourite among generations of audiences, including her own mother. Meanwhile, his wife, Sunita Ahuja, gave her all in their marriage, stayed loyal, and raised their kids. Instead of building a career of her own, she quietly supported Govinda’s success. Divya wrote:
“What more can a woman do? She was the woman behind your success. You were successful outside, but the credit does not go to you alone. I guess you never had to carry the responsibility of your children at home.”
Divya Khosla said that Govinda’s recent actions have now led his wife to plead and beg for help, but most people are choosing to stay quiet. Referring to reports about Govinda and his alleged girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarnkar, making numerous appearances together in public, Divya added:
“It’s atrocious for me to watch, especially when polygamy is being promoted and covered up in so many ways. What inspiration are we giving the future generation? That as a society, let’s turn back into a polygamous one. Let’s preserve our culture. Even if you’re having an affair, please don’t put it on public display.”
Divya called Govinda out for even using religious sites to display their affair. She strongly criticised the Bollywood star’s attempt to portray his wife, Sunita Ahuja, as a “murderer.” She called his attempt unacceptable and said that it was the “last resort any spineless man could stoop to.”

Divya further addressed the trolls who were coming after Sunita Ahuja’s education. According to her, just being “convent-educated” is not always the correct measure of a woman’s understanding of worth. Saying that she could understand Sunita’s pain, Divya wrote:
“Her heart reaches me. Her pain reaches me. At the age of 58, when women are of the age to be grandmothers, all she deserves is to walk into her old age with her husband by her side, looking after her. What was the point of sacrificing so many years, her entire life, for this man, if even at this age she has to struggle for her basic needs as a wife? My heart goes out to you, Sunita ji, and I’m sorry.”
