Guns, kilos of drugs and Queensland police uniforms seized in NSW raid

Police seized a kilogram of cocaine, three kilograms of methylamphetamine, six guns and Queensland police uniforms in an operation just over the New South Wales border, with four people arrested in the major sting.

NSW police arrested a 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old man outside a club on Leisure Drive, Banora, on Thursday afternoon, allegedly pulling the items, as well as ammunition for the rifles, from two cars at the scene.

Simultaneously, they arrested a 22-year-old man on nearby Greenway Drive, who they allege had been on his way to meet them.

A short time later they raided a home on Bowen Loop, in Cudgen – a beachside town about 10 minutes drive away – and arrested a 32-year-old woman.

All four were taken to the Tweed Heads police station.

Images released by police show Queensland Police sky-blue shirts, as well as a navy blue dress uniform allegedly found in one of the cars.

A police spokesperson said the operation was the culmination of three-month investigation, assisted by Queensland Police.

As a result 29-year-old is facing 31 charges, mostly relating to firearms and drugs, while the 33-year-old has been charged with 16 offences.

The 22-year-old was charged with participating in group criminal activity and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.
