Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods’ teams will both be part of an opening night double-header to launch an expanded third season of the TGL, live on Sky Sports.
The tech-infused team golf league sees PGA Tour stars going head-to-head in a custom-built indoor arena, with this year’s tournament expanded to feature seven teams of five-player rosters.
Season three launches on December 27 at the SoFi Center, with Woods and McIlroy returning as at least 12 new PGA Tour players joining TGL ahead of the 2027 season.
McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf – who signed Shane Lowry in the off-season – kick off their campaign against new team Motor City Golf Club, featuring Brooks Koepka and rising star Jackson Koivun.
Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club will feature in the same double-header against defending champions Los Angeles Golf Club, a rematch of last year’s SoFi Cup Finals, with the 15-time major champion hoping to play more frequently than last season.
Woods has still yet to return to the PGA Tour since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024
The 50-year-old held a non-playing role with Jupiter Links GC in 2026 due to injury and made his only appearance in the season finale, but former team-mate Kevin Kisner revealed earlier this month that Woods plans a full schedule.
“I’m not on the team anymore,” Kisner told the Fore Play Podcast. “Tiger wants to play and they wanted to sign Keith Mitchell, which is totally fine with me.
“Rob [McNamara], Tiger’s guy, he texted me a long text last week. Just telling me what they did on their decisions, how they were moving around and what players were going to do and that Tiger wanted to play a full schedule.”

Jupiter Links’ Tom Kim delivered a hole-in-one during season two of the TGL, sending his team into a frenzy and Jupiter Links into the playoffs of the SoFi Cup
The regular season sees each team play four group fixtures, with three players per team used in each match, before the semi-finals take place the week beginning March 15 and a best-of-three Finals Series running on March 22 and 23.
