Centered on the everyday lives of salespeople, Cold Call follows four recruits in Bengaluru (Siddu Moolimani, Santhosh, Shree Vaishnav, and Krishna Vijay) representing Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. Learning the value of cold calling, they enjoy their challenging job until slow growth draws their senior manager’s ire.
Things escalate when the quartet is falsely accused of kidnapping a child. Wanted by the police, the friends must leverage their sales training and skills to clear their names and save the boy.
The lead actors Siddu, Santhosh, Vaishnav, Krishna deliver realistic performances, well-supported by Amita Ranganatha, Nisha Hegde chip in their bit. Balaji as their superior does a fine job.
While director Thambidurai introduces a fresh premise, the execution remains shallow. Predictable beats and a lack of compelling twists undermine the tension. Music and cinematography are functional.
Cold Call offers an interesting concept, but struggles to deliver a memorable pitch.
