At an event on Sunday to promote his son Junaid’s film Ek Din, Aamir Khan lived up to his reputation as a ‘cry-baby,’ and wept copiously, much to the embarrassment of Junaid and his leading lady Sai Pallavi.
“I cry at the drop of a hat,” confesses Aamir. “Even while watching films I break down during emotional scenes, much to the discomfort of those around me. I know it is embarrassing. But I can’t help it.”
This open display of emotion has evoked a mixed response. While Aamir’s fans have been indulgent about his latest emotional outburst, critic KRK , posted, “If you remember Aamir Khan’s drama for his waahiyat film Laal Singh Chaddha. He was crying in every show of the film to get some publicity. And the film was a disaster. Now the same drama he is doing for his son’s film Ek Din. He has already watched the film more than 50 times and still he was crying in the show for publicity…”
Defending the actor-director’s tears, one Twitter user wrote, “Emotional reaction is ‘drama’ now? Not everything is PR… some people actually feel their films.”
