Adam Thomas’ twin brother has spoken out after the I’m A Celebrity South Africa star found himself in yet another heated clash as he escaped being sent home from the camp
Adam Thomas’ twin brother has said the I’m A Celebrity star had “so much against him”. Waterloo Road actor Adam has found himself at the centre of controversy in recent weeks following a string of comments from his I’m A Celebrity South Africa co-stars.
Fans have seen Adam, 37, overcome with emotion during his time on the ITV spin-off after comments from his co-stars, including David Haye. Adam has also been facing a physical and mental battle due to suffering from psoriatic arthritis, an autoimmune condition causing stiffness and swelling in the joints.
With the show being pre-recorded, Adam has reflected on his experience each night on social media. But as last night’s episode played out, with Adam locking horns with Jimmy Bullard in an expletive-ridden rant, his twin brother, reality star Scott, took to Instagram.
Sharing a snap of Adam looking emotional, Scott penned: “The way my brother powered through this experience despite having so much against him, I will never know… Protect your energy at all costs from now on Ads not everyone deserves that pure heart of yours bro. Love you so much.”
Last night, Adam managed to remain in camp following an elimination Bushtucker Trial, after his partner, Jimmy, refused to participate, meaning he was sent packing. Adam should also have been sent home following the trial, but his campmates were given the option to allow him to remain.
As Jimmy yelled out: “I’m A Celebrity get Me Out Of Here!” bringing the trial to a halt, Adam fumed: “If you f*****g wanted to go. Don’t take me with you. What is up with you? All you have to do is run through some mud and you said ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.'” An unimpressed Jimmy replied: “It ain’t about that. I wanted to go home.”
Adam replied: “Well, go home then, in camp. Don’t do it on my f****g watch. A quitter bro, I don’t quit.” Despite quitting, Jimmy said it was a “killer to let Adam down.
Last week, Adam found himself on the receiving end of former boxer Haye’s sharp tongue. After Adam explained he wasn’t mentally or physically in a position to take part in a trial due to his arthritis, David branded him “useless” and said he didn’t “give a s**t” if Adam wasn’t feeling great.
Adam later took to social media and disclosed that at times, he contemplated walking out of the camp due to his low mood. He candidly told fans that he was left “broken” by David during his time in the camp. He told fans: “He [David] broke me in there, he pushed me to my limits, and I’ve told David this and he’s apologised and that’s that! I’ve moved on now, am not one to hold a grudge.”
As the actor laid bare his raw emotion and struggles, Scott shared his thoughts in the comment section of Adam’s post. The Love Island personality replied: “I wish I could have been there for you my brother… It makes me so angry that you went through that… But I’m so proud of how you’ve come out of the other side of all this… The strongest you’ve ever been and on an incredible journey…Standing in your power.”
But while David may have apologised to Adam, he later unleashed yet another attack after being booted from the camp. In his exit chat, David said of his relationship with Adam: “No bad blood from my side. Look, I’ve been immersed in tough boxing gyms since I was ten years old.
“Literally fighting daily, much bigger men than myself, pushing myself to the limits, physically and mentally. I won the world heavyweight championship against a seven-foot Russian giant. So when a grown man tells me that a fun TV show – where we’re being paid handsomely every single day – is the hardest thing he’s ever been through, it’s just not a frequency I recognise.
“I was actually on my best behaviour in there, honestly. I’ve spoken to Adam, I’ve said my piece, and some of what’s still to air will speak for itself. I’ll leave it there.”
