The 2026 NFL trade deadline is centered around several notable players, including Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor. However, a shocking tight end’s name has emerged ahead of the November 10 deadline based on new reports.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reveals that the Denver Broncos are looking to bulk up at tight end as the AFC team looks to make a playoff push. That’s included Sean Payton and Co. checking in on Cardinals star Trey McBride.

The Arizona pass catcher has become one of the elite TEs in the league since being drafted in 2022. This season, McBride has recorded 66 catches for over 500 yards and hauled in five touchdowns.

Schefter’s report indicates that the Cardinals don’t plan on trading away their valuable asset, but his connection to the Denver area certainly makes for an intriguing talking point.

The 26-year-old is a Colorado native and attended Colorado State University before being drafted into the league. McBride’s since become the best tight end in the game, including being named first-team All-Pro last season.

Last season, the Cardinals standout caught 126 passes. He’s on pace to surpass that total in 2026 despite the NFC West team currently sitting with a 3-5 record nearly halfway through the season.

Meanwhile, Arizona’s recent decision to trade away quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens certainly indicates that the Cardinals are comfortable testing out Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck for the remainder of the season.
