Day training the house down: Impey
Hawthorn running defender Jarman Impey is excited to see star midfielder Will Day back in the side.
Impey revealed Day has been putting his teammates to the sword at training as he regains his touch after missing a long stretch of time due to injury.
“He is a personal favourite of mine and we have a great connection,” Impey told Kayo Sports.
“He’s been mucking up our drills at training. He is kicking it way too good, it’s like come and play our team already.”
Late change for the Hawks
Conor Nash is a late scratching for the Hawks with a neck injury. I reckon he was carrying that injury from last match, either way, he hasn’t come up for tonight with Flynn Perez taking his place.
The Blue Ribbon Cup
Tonight, the Saints and Hawks will continue their long-running Blue Ribbon Cup event as part of this match.
The information below is from Saints media:
Blue Ribbon Cup
Tonight, St Kilda and Hawthorn will compete for the 27th annual Blue Ribbon Cup, honouring the courage and sacrifice of all Victorian police officers, particularly those who have fallen in the line of duty. First established in 1999, the cup serves as a tribute to Victoria Police members Sergeant Gary Silk and Senior Constable Rodney Miller, who were killed in the line of duty in Moorabbin on August 16 1998.
At the conclusion of the match, players from the winning team will receive commemorative Blue Ribbon medals, while the best player from each team will be awarded the Silk-Miller Memorial Medal.
