Nalgonda: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bibinagar has launched its Community Radio Station (CRS) at 89.6 FM, becoming the first AIIMS in the country to establish a community radio station dedicated to public health awareness and community engagement.
The station was inaugurated on the campus by executive director Prof. Amita Aggarwal.

Operating at 89.6 FM, the station covers an approximate 10-kilometre radius around AIIMS Bibinagar. It will broadcast public health awareness programmes, health education sessions, disease prevention messages and important community updates for the benefit of the public.
Community Radio Station operational committee chairperson Dr A. S. Subathra said special interactive programmes such as “Dial a Doctor” would be introduced to provide listeners with direct access to expert medical guidance, helping them clarify health-related queries and stay informed about preventive healthcare measures.
She said regular community updates and health promotion programmes would also be aired to improve awareness of key health issues and healthy lifestyle practices. Residents in the coverage area have been encouraged to tune in to 89.6 FM for reliable health information and community-focused programmes.
