Alia Bhatt recently shared her experience filming the premiere episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2, revealing that the shoot was an unexpectedly intense workout due to uncontrollable laughter. She appeared on the show with her Alpha co-star Sharvari to promote their upcoming spy thriller.

Speaking at a promotional event in Jaipur on Monday, Alia explained that while the final edit viewers see is one hour long, the actual filming process lasted much longer. The constant humour on set left her physically exhausted in a unique way.

Alia said, “We love this special, we love how much laughter he brings to everybody. And it was a lot of fun. Actually, what you saw was one hour. We were there for four to five hours. My heart rate tracker said I was very stressed because it is not normal, I guess, to laugh so much.”

The debut episode of the new season has sparked mixed reactions online. While some viewers welcomed the return of Samay Raina’s show, others felt the episode lacked the raw, unscripted energy of the first season, with some criticizing it for feeling overly promotional and scripted. Although some viewers enjoyed specific segments, including Samay’s jokes about Alia’s film Jigra and her Cannes appearance, as well as a Donald Trump parody.

Apart from the laughter on set, Alia also expressed her appreciation for the bond between Samay Raina and Balraj Ghai, which was highlighted in a behind-the-scenes video. She shared, “When you talked about your friendship, I could actually see it. It was so nicely explained and expressed. I was crying over there. I feel like I know both of you really well because of this special.”

Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail, is the seventh movie in YRF’s Spy Universe. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Bobby Deol, and will release in theatres on July 3.
