The first look poster for Allu Arjun’s upcoming movie, Raaka, was released on April 8 to celebrate the actor’s birthday. As soon as the title was announced, fans wondered whether Raaka referred to the film itself or specifically to Allu Arjun’s character. The makers have since clarified the reasoning behind this choice.
According to a leading tabloid, the producers made a conscious decision to name the film after Allu Arjun’s character following the massive success of the Pushpa franchise. In that series, the character became the film’s identity and a nationwide phenomenon.
With Raaka, the team aims to repeat that magic by building the entire project around the power of his character. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the multi-lingual release.
Raaka is directed by Atlee Kumar, with Deepika Padukone likely to appear in a prominent role. The film has music composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
