HONG KONG (AP) — American Claire Liu defeated Alexandra Eala 6-3, 6-0 to win the Hong Kong Tennis Open on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Liu, playing her second final after Rabat, Morocco in 2022, needed just 1 hour, 33 minutes to wrap up her first WTA title without losing a set over her five matches.
Liu, ranked 102nd, arrived in Hong Kong without a win at the hard-court tournament.
