Angela Scanlon recently shared some of her skincare staples with fans, including a £20 under-eye cream from Korean Beauty favourite Erborian which removes dark circles

When it comes to skincare, one of the trickiest areas to tackle is your under-eyes. The skin is thinner there and doesn’t produce oil on its own, which means the area is much more prone to dryness and puffiness, as well as making it one of the first areas where fine lines appear.

In a recent skincare Q&A, Angela Scanlon revealed some of her go-to products, including the affordable product she uses to help diminish dark circles and brighten underneath your eyes instantly. One of her favourites is the CC Cream from Korean beauty favourite Erborian, which you can pick up for £20 and Angela showed how quick and easy it is to use.

The CC Cream comes in six different shades to suit a range of skin tones, and once applied to your skin the encapsulated pigments burst, blending into the skin. This allows it to adapt to your skin, improve the texture and even out tone without worrying about making sure the shade is absolutely perfect for your skin.

It contains SPF30 to protect against UV rays (which can speed up the signs of ageing) as well as plenty of different skincare ingredients to boost your skin underneath it. The CC Cream has hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump up the area, reducing fine lines, as well as centella asiatica which moisturises and soothes irritation.

This makes it the perfect pick for wearing during the spring and summer months, as it’s suitable for all skin types and can cover a myriad of issues that can be exacerbated by the warmer weather. From dry eyes to puffy hayfever symptoms, as well as dark circles caused by a restless night’s sleep from the hot temperatures, the CC Cream is a great fix for all of them.

If you want a more specific way of correcting the colour of your under eye bags (or anywhere else on your skin) Huda’s Beauty FAUXFILTER Color Corrector Mini is perfect. Priced at £14 it comes in various orange shades which help to neutralise the blue undertones that are often found in dark circles, creating a more neutral base to apply the rest of your makeup over.

Alternatively, the NARS Light Reflecting Eye Brightener is great if you have general darkness or dullness under your eyes. The makeup-skincare hybrid is £29.50 and comes in six shades, with sheer buildable coverage, a creamy blendable formula, and it visibly lifts, tones, nourishes and hydrates skin whilst improving elasticity.

However the CC Cream that Angela recommends has been praised by fellow beauty fans with a 4.7 star rating. One said: “I suffer with sensitive skin but have found CC to be gentle enough not to cause any breakout and provides lovely smooth coverage.”

Another wrote: “First time trying a CC cream, I was pleasantly surprised by the coverage provided. The product is hydrating but not too heavy and easy to apply evenly across the face. The only downside is I haven’t been able to find the right natural shade for me, definitely suggest testing out your shade before committing to a purchase.”

One did warn: “I was excited to hear that this product came in darker shades as I’ve been looking for a lighter coverage base as the months get warmer. Shade Caramel is ideal for my medium Indian skin tone, but watch out as it can appear too dark if too many layers are applied.”
