Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadline for renewal of liquor retail shop (A4) licences for 2026-27 by two days to September 23 following a request from existing licensees.
Excise authorities said on Monday that the extension would provide additional time for existing licensees to complete the renewal process and pay the prescribed renewal and application fees.
A total of 3,650 retail liquor shops have been notified in the state. Against a demand of Rs 933.44 crore towards renewal of retail excise tax (RET) and application fee, Rs 676 crore had been collected as of Monday, leaving Rs 257 crore to be collected.
The annual RET demand stood at Rs 2,454.76 crore, of which Rs 441 crore had been collected. Against a permit room RET demand of Rs 249.15 crore, Rs 62 crore had been collected.
The overall annual demand towards renewal RET, annual RET and permit room RET was Rs 3,637.35 crore, of which Rs 1,179.63 crore had been collected so far.
