Vijayawada: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has found another inscription of Achyutadevaraya at the Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.

The inscription was found on the north wall of the temple’s third prakaram and was recently copied by the ASI as part of the Bharat Shared Repository of Inscriptions project.

Written in Tamil, the inscription dates to the 16th century.

It records a grant to Dalavay Timmarasayyar, son of Pradhani Somarasayyar, who served the king as a military commander at Chandragiri Fort.

The inscription mentions a grant of 150 rekhai-pon (gold coins) from the revenues of the village of Samapuram-Tinnai in Goklagunta-Simai.

It also records a deposit of 15,000 narpanam in the bhandaram (temple treasury) to provide food offerings and other services to Lord Venkateswara on auspicious days.
