The animated feature expands the cinematic universe created by director SS Rajamouli. Award-winning animator Ishan Shukla is directing the two-part animated epic. The story takes a supernatural turn as it follows Amarendra Baahubali’s journey in the afterlife. The murdered prince enters a cosmic realm and becomes part of an eternal war between devas and asuras across fourteen worlds. Legendary composer MM Keeravaani is scoring the film, which is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.

Time for Baahubali: The Torchbearer

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting Baahubali: The Torchbearer, a docu-series set to premiere on OTT on June 26. The project celebrates the ten-year journey and cultural impact of the original live-action films. Earlier, the animated television series Baahubali: The Lost Legends was released in 2017 as a prequel to Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Later, Baahubali: Crown of Blood was also released as part of the franchise’s expanding animated universe.
