The Chicago Bears are 1-1 on the season following a brutal 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, which featured Caleb Williams getting carted off the field with a hamstring injury.

While not season-ending, or even bad enough to warrant placement on injured reserve right now, Williams is looking likely to miss Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. At least the Bears can turn to Tyson Bagent. Right?
Well, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Bagent is reportedly in concussion protocol and might not even be able to suit up in Week 3. So, with QB1 and maybe even QB2 down, the Bears are dealing with a nightmare QB situation for Week 3.
Bears could face nightmare QB situation in Week 3 vs. Eagles
“Bears QB Tyson Bagent is dealing with a concussion and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, sources say,” Rapoport reports. “With Caleb Williams likely out with a hamstring injury, Case Keenum could be the starter vs the Eagles.”

Williams is looking likely to miss Week 3, as he’s not expected to practice this week as the Bears get ready for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Eagles.
But now, Bagent is also looking uncertain for Week 3 and might not be active for the Bears, as concussion protocol typically keeps a player out for at least one week.
There is a chance that Bagent plays in Week 3, thanks to the game being on Monday, giving him a little bit of extra time to get healthy.

But it’s clear that Bagent has joined Williams in being questionable for this road matchup against the Eagles, a very difficult NFC East opponent.

Keenum, the long-time NFL veteran who is 38 years old, might have to step in. He’s had his fair share of moments during his NFL career, so it’s not a complete disaster, like what happened to the Atlanta Falcons with Cooper Rush and Jack Strand.
But there’s no denying that this is a nightmare quarterback situation for the Bears. It’s only Week 3, and the Bears might be relying on their third-string QB to beat a tough Eagles team, on the road, in primetime, to avoid dropping under .500 this season.
