Actor Bhagyashri Borse has shared an emotional note after meeting Kamal Haasan, weeks after officially coming on board Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Seyon. The actor, who was recently unveiled as the female lead of the project through a birthday special first-look poster, took to social media on Tuesday to speak about the experience of interacting with the veteran actor-filmmaker.

“The little girl in me was jumping with joy”

Sharing a picture with Kamal Haasan, Bhagyashri wrote, “Dearest Kamal Haasan sir, the little girl in me who watched you growing up was jumping with joy the second you placed your hands on my shoulders and wished me luck. Honoured to be associated with RKFI and promise to make you proud.”

The post quickly caught the attention of fans, especially after the makers had earlier introduced her character with a serene first-look image featuring the actor holding a peacock feather. The visual had sparked discussions online for its mythological and spiritual undertones, hinting at the world director Sivakumar Murugesan appears to be building with Seyon.

Bhagyashri’s casting in the film was officially confirmed earlier this month, although speculation around her involvement had already begun circulating after her social media interactions with the team.

Seyon continues to build buzz

Backed by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, Seyon marks another major collaboration in Sivakarthikeyan’s career following Amaran. The project is directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, who recently made his debut with Thaai Kizhavi. Reports suggest that the actor was impressed by the filmmaker’s earlier work, eventually leading to this collaboration.

The film is said to be mounted as a rural emotional drama and recently went on floors with a formal puja ceremony attended by the team. Early promotional material featuring Sivakarthikeyan in a rugged rural avatar has already generated curiosity among fans. Composer Santhosh Narayanan, who is scoring the film, recently described Seyon as a deeply personal creative journey while also speaking highly about Sivakarthikeyan’s growth as an actor.

Apart from Bhagyashri and Sivakarthikeyan, the film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Vivek Vijayakumar, editor San Lokesh, art director RK Nagu and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar. The project is currently eyeing an October theatrical release.

For Bhagyashri, Seyon continues a strong run across South Indian cinema. After beginning her career with modelling and brief appearances in Hindi films, the actor gained visibility in Telugu cinema with projects such as Mr. Bachchan and Kingdom. She is also set to appear opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Kaantha and stars in Lenin alongside Akhil Akkineni.

Kamal Haasan, meanwhile, remains busy with multiple productions and acting commitments. The actor was last seen in Thug Life and is currently shooting for his next film with stunt duo Anbariv, tentatively titled KH 237.
