Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson took in some Friday Night Lights together.
The 74-year-old North Carolina football coach and his 25-year-old girlfriend were spotted in the press box Friday night taking in Archbishop Spalding’s 32-0 blowout of Gilman in its home opener by WMAR2News’ Avi Carr-Gloth in Severn, Md.
Belichick was seen sitting next to Hudson and another man with a pen in hand and checking his phone during the game.
Hudson sported a black baseball cap and dark sunglasses and a Tar Heel blue top.
Carr-Gloth reported that with North Carolina off this week, Belichick was at the game to scout several top prospects.
The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach arrived well before the 7 p.m. kickoff and left at the end of the third quarter, Carr-Gloth reported.
Spalding sports a number of top recruits, including 2028 offensive lineman Bryce Smalls and receiver Kam Miller and 2029 QB Brian Snowden Jr. Gilman sports running back/ safety Aiden Johnson.
Belichick is off to a better start in his second season at Chapel Hill, as the Tar Heels sit 2-1 after a tough 28-20 loss to Clemson last week before hosting No. 3 Notre Dame on Oct. 3.
North Carolina went just 4-8 last season.
Despite some early success, their remains some outside distractions around the program.
North Carolina recently finalized an internal investigation of the program and Belichick saw both general manager Mike Lombardi and son Steve Belichick resign.
Steve, the team’s defensive coordinator, has been on medical leave since Aug. 6 and will depart the program Oct. 27.
Lombardi was placed on administrative leave in late July after some employees filed complaints against him.
The probe, which was conducted by an external firm, looked into allegations of drug use and sex in the program, as well as the workplace culture being created, according to WRAL News.
It found isolated cases that demonstrated “a disregard for Carolina’s values and standards of conduct.”
North Carolina chancellor Lee Roberts still voiced support of Bill Belichick earlier this week.
“Coach Belichick continues to have our support, the support of the administration and of the board [of trustees],” Roberts told the reporters Thursday. “He understands that that support comes with expectations around conduct and behavior. Nobody understands that better than coach Belichick.”
