Billy Ray Cyrus hit the headlines last month when reports claimed that the singer had been engaged to Elizabeth Hurley. The duo first met in 2022, after which they reconnected, and in April 2025, they made their relationship official. However, in October 2026, it was revealed that the duo got engaged. While they haven’t explicitly mentioned the engagement, both have dropped several hints, as seen in their social media posts.
Billy has been married three times. His last marriage was to Firerose (real name: Johanna Rose Hodge), which lasted only seven months before ending in a bitter divorce. Over the years, Firerose made some serious allegations against Billy Ray, however, he vehemently denied all of them. Recently, Firerose had something to say again. She recently sat for an interview with The Sun, wherein she called Billy Ray a ‘narcissist’.

Speaking of Firerose and Billy Ray’s relationship, the duo first met on the set of Hannah Montana years ago. They reconnected in 2019, and their relationship began then. It was in 2020 when Firerose moved to Billy’s farm. In 2023, the couple got married, and according to reports, it was after this that things turned sour between the duo. In May 2024, Billy filed for divorce, and it was finalized in August 2024.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Firerose stated that she never wishes anybody to be in a relationship with a ‘narcissist’. She further mentioned that being in that relationship with Billy felt like a war in itself. Firerose could be quoted as saying:
“I wish that every person who is being ensnared by a narcissist could save themselves, because I wouldn’t wish that on anybody, being in a relationship with Billy was like going through some kind of war.”
In the same interview, Firerose said she would look at him in a certain way, and he would perceive it as ‘wrong’ and be triggered into rage. She went on to reveal that Billy would start screaming and hurling insults at her. Firerose claimed to be abused by Billy and shared that he would say the most horrible things to her.
According to her, the next day, Billy would shower her with love, and she tried to ‘mould herself’ into who he wanted her to be, in order to keep the relationship smooth. Billy hasn’t reacted to Firerose’s recent comments. To quote her:
‘I could just look at him in a way he would perceive to be wrong and it would trigger his rage, he would be screaming vile insults and verbally abusing me and calling me the most horrible things I’ve ever heard.”
How did Billy Ray Cyrus react to Firerose’s allegations?
This is, however, not the first time that Firerose has made comments about her relationship with Billy. She continued speaking about her past marriage in several of her interviews and posts. In 2024, Billy filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and ‘inappropriate marital conduct’, after which he also filed for a restraining order to stop unauthorized use of his credit cards and accounts, and his lawyer mentioned that he was relieved to put this nightmare behind him.
In a statement released by his lawyers, Billy Ray Cyrus mentioned that it had been the most ‘crazy insane scam I have ever heard of’. To mention, reports claimed that Firerose walked out of the marriage without a single dollar, though. Coming back to Billy’s statement, he said:
“This has been absolutely the most crazy insane scam I have ever heard of. Let alone the fact I’m right in the center and basically the target of the scheme. It’s unfortunate it played out this way. Not only was it a web of lies that put me in physical danger, it was a matter of the heart. Love is blind, that’s for sure.’
