One question of the Mets’ infield equation for the 2027 season has been answered.
Bo Bichette has exercised his $42 million option to remain with the Mets for next year, The Athletic reported Thursday night.
Bichette, who signed a three-year contract with the Mets before last season, also has an option for the 2028 campaign.
The 28-year-old started his Queens tenure slowly but finished with a .260/.312/.390 slash line with 18 home runs and 78 RBIs as he also played third base for the first time in his big league career. He had a .739 OPS in the second half.
