Under the guidance of Billy Loughnane, Bow Echo stormed to victory in the 2000 Guineas, completing the Newmarket Classic double for trainer George Boughey.
Sent off a 9-2 chance from stall 15, the son of Night Of Thunder cruised into contention on the stands-side before putting joint-favourite Gstaad to the sword in the closing stages.
Trainer Boughey, who had saddled Catchet to victory in the 2022 Fillies’ equivalent, celebrated a Classic double at Flat racing’s spiritual home, whilst rider Loughnane celebrated his first top honour in the saddle.
Aidan O’Brien’s horse – far superior to Distant Storm back in third – was a clear second under Ryan Moore.
