The Dodgers return to Southern California facing a 2-0 deficit in the NLCS.

With an interesting pitching matchup on the docket, Wednesday’s Game 3 against the Brewers has the potential for another higher-scoring affair.

Milwaukee will hand the ball to Robert Gasser, who has had a rough time against the Dodgers in 2026.

The left-hander went 0-2 with a 5.91 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers this season, allowing seven earned runs, 12 hits and three home runs across 10 2/3 innings.

Los Angeles tagged him for four runs in just 4 1/3 innings in May before getting to him for another three runs, including two homers, in August.

He held Shohei Ohtani hitless in six at-bats, but the superstar may sit Game 3 amid a prolonged slump and lingering injuries.

Meanwhile, Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages and Tommy Edman have all taken Gasser deep this season, proving the Dodgers don’t need Ohtani to do the damage.

On the other side, Los Angeles is expected to turn to Blake Snell, who has been effective when healthy but has struggled to pitch deep into games.

Snell has averaged just four innings over his last five starts, including a shaky outing against the Braves in the NLDS in which he walked five batters and needed 90 pitches to get through 3 2/3 innings.

Another early Snell exit would leave the Dodgers relying heavily on a bullpen that has been shaky this October outside of closer Edwin Diaz.

Los Angeles relievers surrendered four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings on Monday, allowing the Brewers to run away with the victory.

With both starters carrying concerns and the Brewers’ bats heating up, there should be enough opportunities for runs for both clubs on Wednesday.

The play: Over 7.5 runs (-104, FanDuel Sportsbook)
