Chinthalapadi Madhu, a leader associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), was found dead inside a gunny bag near Yerkaram stage under the limits of the Suryapet Rural Police Station in Telangana’s Suryapet district, police said on Saturday.
Police suspect the 42-year-old was murdered by unidentified individuals before his body was dumped near the roadside location.
“Unknown individuals brutally killed a 42-year-old man named Chinthalapadi Madhu and dumped his body in a gunny bag near Yerkaram stage,” a Sub Inspector of Suryapet Rural Police Station said.
Body Sent For Post-Mortem
Officials said a case has been registered in connection with the incident and the body has been shifted for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police teams have begun an investigation and are searching for the accused involved in the killing.
According to police, the deceased’s wife is a former sarpanch associated with the BRS party.
Police Cite Previous Murder Case
Investigators also stated that Madhu had earlier been involved in a murder case registered in 2008.
“The deceased’s wife is a former sarpanch from the BRS party. The deceased was involved in a murder case in 2008, in which he allegedly killed a former sarpanch named Ravinder from the same village. We have registered a case, and the deceased’s body has been shifted for post-mortem examination. We are investigating the matter and searching for the accused,” the police official said.
Police are examining all possible angles, including past rivalries, while gathering evidence from the scene.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
