‘Sociopath’, Sister Of Mackenzie Shirilla’s Late BF, Dominic Russo Slams ‘The Crash’ Subject’s Acts

Netflix is back with yet another true-crime documentary, dredging up a sensational case. The OTT site’s latest offering in the genre, which has generated immense online buzz, is The Crash. The story follows the high-profile Ohio criminal case of Mackenzie Shirilla, a 17-year-old (now 21) who was convicted of dual murder. She intentionally slammed her car into a brick building at 100 mph, killing her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and his friend, Davion Flanagan. Following the documentary’s release, Dominic’s sister, Christine shared her grief and anger towards his murderer, Mackenzie.

After The Crash created a worldwide stir, Dominic Russo’s elder sister, Christine, sat for an interview with NewsNation affiliate, WKYC. She told them she was trying to stay calm by staying busy with work and avoiding the spotlight as much as possible. Sharing her raw emotions, Christine mentioned she doesn’t know how to feel about her brother’s murderer. She sometimes hates Mackenzie Shirilla, but other times she’s left heartbroken by the tragic incident. Her exact words were:

“I’m torn, too; sometimes I hate her and sometimes I feel bad for the entire situation. My thoughts are this never should have happened. My brother should be alive. Davion should be alive.”

Christine further stated that, sometimes, her rage towards Mackenzie Shirilla turned to sorrow when she thought about how and why things had turned out the way they did. However, those thoughts didn’t last long, as she felt his late brother’s ex-girlfriend had no ounce of remorse. The reason was Mackenzie’s repeated appeals in court rather than accepting the punishment and paying for her sins. Dominic’s sister slammed The Crash‘s subject by labelling her a “sociopath” and “psychopath”, who is “rotten to the core.” Cristiane wished she had never even had to know Mackenzie’s name. She stated:

“It’s hard to have such anger for her sometimes. I feel bad for the entire situation, but at the same time, I know how narcissists and sociopaths are — and she clearly is one of them. She’s a psychopath, a stone-cold psychopath. She keeps appealing and appealing. She’s rotten to the core. Sometimes I feel bad. Sometimes I wish I didn’t hear her name anymore.”

Recently, a 27-year-old woman named Mary Katherine Crowder, who served time with Mackenzie Shirilla at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, shared some explosive inside deets regarding the dual murderer’s life behind bars. Mary told the New York Post that Mackenzie thought of herself as the “queen bee of Mean Girls.” The former cellmate alleged that Mackenzie has had multiple girlfriends and frequently displayed hickeys while serving her life sentence. According to Mary’s revelation, The Crash‘s subject dolled up in cute outfits and makeup and slept with multiple inmates. Mary also shared the same in one of her TikTok videos, and stated:

“Mackenzie has had multiple girlfriends…She was walking around with hickies on her neck. If she was grieving or remorseful, she would not have gone to prison and jumped into prison relationships over the next six months.”

Mary also claimed that Mackenzie’s emotional and remorseful portrayal in Netflix’s The Crash was entirely inaccurate. She pushed back against the documentary’s narrative, alleging that Mackenzie’s behaviour behind bars was very different from what was shown on camera. According to Mary, Mackenzie was “always laughing, always smiling and happy,” showing no signs of repentance for killing two people. She further claimed that Mackenzie lived a comfortable life inside the facility and even sold customised jewelry and shoes to other inmates.
