Call the Midwife star Helen George has shared more details about how she’s coping following the breakdown of her relationship with Dan Innes, after posting about ‘disrespect’

Call the Midwife star Helen George has opened up about being left in tears over a “challenging” her split from latest boyfriend. The actress recently split from property marketing agency boss Dan Innes.
The couple started dating in March 2025, and things progressed quickly with Dan moving into the home she shares with her two children at the beginning of this year. But revently, Helen 42, has left cryptic messages on Instagram about being let down and has now opened up about her heartache for the first time.
In an episode of her podcast, Mystic Mates, Helen said: “There’s been voice notes, there’s been tears, it’s been pretty s**t.” Her co-host, Yvette Robinson, asked her what was weighing on her mind and she admitted that it was the “recent events in my love life”.
The star, who played Trixie in Call the Midwife, added that she was “going through some personal things” and said again that its been “pretty s**t”.
Later in the podcast, Yvette gave Helen a tarot reading and said the actress had some “challenges ahead” that could “make you grow”. Helen retorted: “Babe, don’t you think I’ve had enough challenge?”
But Yvette reassured her, saying: “I do feel like with you, Hels, I feel like you’re getting your power back. I feel like you’re such a strong, powerful, amazing woman, and sometimes, can I say, you lose that power a little bit. And we lose you, and we go, ‘we’ve lost Hels, but she’ll come back.’ And then you do come back.”
This comes after the Sun reported that Helen and Dan had split. A source told the publication: “Their differences became apparent. It has been a difficult time for them both.”
Helen posted a cryptic message to Instagram shortly after. The actress uploaded a picture of her daughter in a field and said in the caption: “When the chaos leaves, the calm resumes.”
She added another message to her story about “disrespect”. “I absolutely take responsibility for when I am wrong,” the quote read. “But I will never apologise for responding to disrespect. If you lit the match, do not stand in the flames pretending to be the victim.”
Another repost said: “I don’t want my daughter to be like me. I want her to speak up sooner. Walk away faster. Trust herself deeper. Apologise less. Take up more space. Ask bigger questions. Dream louder. And if that means she becomes everything I wasn’t good.”
Dan and Helen first met on celeb dating app Raya and frequently posted each other on Instagram during their relationship, including pics of each other on dates or cuddled up in bed during a getaway to Cornwall, but Dan has now deleted his Instagram account. The Mirror contacted Helen for comment at the time.
