Hyderabad:Jubilee Hills police registered a case against Tollywood producers C. Kalyan and Burugupalli Sivarama Krishna and others for allegedly attempting to grab a disputed property despite an existing court injunction.
The case was registered on a complaint lodged by businessman Kanthamaneni Ravi Shankar, who alleged that the accused illegally entered Plot No. 89 of the Women’s Co-operative Housing Society in Jubilee Hills. A civil court had earlier directed that his possession of the land should not be disturbed until the ownership dispute was sorted.
Despite the injunction, the complainant stated that the accused broke open the locks, damaged the entrance gate, scattered construction material inside the premises, threatened staff present at the site and demolished a room constructed on the property. Videos of the incident circulated on social media platforms showed the assailants making a forceful entry by breaking the lock with a stone. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the allegations.
When contacted, Jubilee Hills police declined to share details about the FIR or the status of the investigation.
It can also be recalled that producer Kalyan was charged with trespass and encroachement attempt pver which, a case was regiostered with Banjara Hills police in 2021. He was earlier arrested in 2011 in an alleged cheating and criminal intimidation case filed by film distributors and was sent to judicial remand.
