Hyderabad: In a major haul, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) seized foreign currency worth approximately ₹31 lakh from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Sunday.

According to officials, the CISF’s CIW team intercepted an international departure passenger travelling to Kuala Lumpur after observing suspicious behavioural patterns. The passenger was subjected to X-BIS screening, during which baggage images raised suspicion.

A detailed examination of the hand baggage led to the recovery of foreign currency equivalent to around ₹31 lakh. The passenger, along with the seized cash, was subsequently handed over to Customs Department officials for further investigation and necessary action as per standard operating procedures.
