CM Expresses Ire at District Collectors, Officials Who Skipped Field Visits During 99-Day Programme

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday came down heavily on officials who failed to undertake field visits during the government’s 99-day action plan Praja Palana – Pragathi Nivedika, and directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to submit a report identifying officers, including district collectors, who did not comply with instructions issued by the government.

The Chief Minister also ordered that explanations be sought immediately from such officials on why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them, and warned that non-compliance with government directives would not be tolerated. He recalled his instructions to senior officials to undertake field visits every month to closely monitor development works and public welfare programmes.

The Chief Minister issued the directions while chairing a review meeting on the implementation of the 99-day programme conducted across the state from March 16 to June 12. Revanth Reddy appreciated departments that actively participated in the initiative.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the planning department to submit a report on the implementation of promises he had made at the Assembly constituency level. He also sought details on assurances given to the public during his district tours and government programmes since assuming office. Stating that the special programme had helped bring the people-centric government closer to citizens, he reviewed department-wise initiatives and the outcomes achieved during the period.

Rajya Sabha MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police C.V. Anand, principal secretary to the Chief Minister V. Seshadri and senior officials attended the meeting. Departments presented detailed reports on activities undertaken from from the district level to the villages.

The Chief Minister observed that some departments had failed to adequately publicise initiatives launched under the 99-day programme. He directed senior officials to take responsibility for ensuring wider publicity through conventional and digital media platforms and advised departments to regularly communicate their achievements to the public.

He also reviewed the installation of solar power plants on school buildings and the implementation of facial recognition-based attendance systems across educational institutions and healthcare facilities, including PHCs, Osmania Hospital and Gandhi Hospital.
