HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a high-level review meeting with the Industries Department on Wednesday to track the progress of investment agreements signed during the Davos World Economic Forum and the ‘Telangana Rising’ Global Summit.
The meeting was attended by Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, CM Special Secretary Ajith Reddy, and other top officials.
Key Directives for Accelerated Industrial Growth:
- Expediting Land Acquisition: The Chief Minister directed officials to fast-track pending land acquisition processes. He emphasized that land should be allotted based on priority to companies that have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), specifically within the Future City and other designated industrial hubs.
- Three-Tier Categorization of Investors: In a move to streamline industrialization, the CM instructed officials to categorize companies that signed MOUs into three groups. He ordered that Reputed Global Brands be given the “Top Priority” in terms of facilitation and resource allotment.
- Sustainability in Tech: For the growing Data Center sector, the CM issued a specific directive to utilize recycled water from Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to meet their high-water requirements, ensuring sustainable industrial practices.
- Operational Deadline: CM Reddy made it clear that companies must transition from “agreements” to “operations” as quickly as possible. He instructed the department to provide all necessary infrastructure and amenities to ensure a smooth launch of their activities.
The officials briefed the Chief Minister on the current status of grounded projects versus those still in the pipeline, providing a detailed breakdown of land requirements and specific sectoral needs. The CM concluded by urging a planned approach to anticipate and meet the future requirements of these global entities to maintain Telangana’s competitive edge.
