The mum got candid about parenting struggles, opening up about a very relatable problem all mums and dads will have faced at one point or another.

Danny Jones’ wife Georgia Horsley has made a brutally honest confession about their home life, admitting she doesn’t “always love being a mum”.

The 39-year-old wife of McFly star Danny, 40, bravely opened up about her parenting struggles this week – a year on from her husband’s kiss scandal with Maura Higgins.

Speaking candidly about raising their eight-year-old son Cooper, Georgia said she sometimes feels a “real unfairness” with motherhood.

“Do you know when I don’t love being a mum? I always feel ever so guilty for it but f*** it, we all feel this. [It] is when you’ve got something really exciting planned and it’s been in the diary for ages, and then your kid gets sick,” she said on her podcast Mum’s the Word!, which she co-hosts with Kelsey Parker.

“And you can’t do it and you have to cancel it. I just feel a real unfairness, and I feel terrible for feeling it, but I think it’s just a normal way to feel.”

The former Miss England winner continued: “You’re sad and fed up because you can’t do that thing that you were really excited about doing. You’re gutted, but you’ve got to be a parent. Honestly, I think that is such a valid, valid feeling.”

Georgia’s honesty comes just over a year after her marriage was rocked when Danny was filmed appearing to kiss I’m A Celebrity campmate Maura Higgins, 36, at a BRIT Awards after-party in London.

The McFly guitarist later issued a public apology, writing on Instagram: “I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”

Despite the upheaval, the couple – who have been married since 2014 – worked through the crisis privately, with Danny paying tribute to Georgia on her birthday last December, calling her “my mushyyyyyy”.

On her podcast, Georgia added: “I’ll always love Cooper with every ounce of my being, but sometimes… It’s fine to not always love being a parent. I think 99.9% of the population, actually, probably 100% of the population, don’t always love it.”

The model and influencer revealed another aspect of parenting she struggles with is helping Cooper with his homework.

“What I feel like with the homework is they’ve already done so much at school, they don’t need to come back and do any more. I can’t do it either,” she admitted.

“Honestly, some of the English stuff, these words… I have to Google what all these words mean. It’s bloody hard.”

Georgia said she has a small WhatApp group with other mums who can support each other when they’re struggling with parenthood.

She explained: “For instance, this morning, me and my two best mates, one of them just messaged – she sent a voice note – she went, ‘Morning, girls. I just had my little one having a 25-minute tantrum and I’ve just dropped her off and I am exhausted’.”

“And then and then the other one was like, ‘Well, it’s fine because I just sent my kid to school in his trousers and they were on back to front’. It’s nice to have that network of honesty and people being like, yeah, this is hard or I’ve just done this this morning.”

Georgia and Danny first met in 2009 when she was working as a model after winning the Miss England title in 2007.

They married in North Yorkshire in August 2014, with their McFly bandmate wedding guests and Ellie Goulding performing at their reception.

Danny won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in December 2024, with Georgia and Cooper flying to Australia to greet him when he left the jungle.
