Vijayawada: The Indrakeeladri Ghat Road will remain closed for a week from September 22 as road repair and maintenance works are being carried out ahead of the Dasara festival.
Durga Temple Executive Officer VK Seena Naik said the ghat road would be completely closed to vehicular traffic during this period. Devotees will not be allowed to use the ghat road and will have to reach the temple through Sri Kanaka Durga Nagar.
Parking facilities have been arranged near Punnami Ghat for devotees visiting the temple from Hyderabad. Free bus services will be available from Punnami Ghat to the temple, the EO said.
Devotees arriving from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and other places via the One Town Police Station route have to park their vehicles at Seethamma Vari Padalu. Free bus services will be available from the parking area to the temple.
EO Seena Naik urged devotees to use the designated parking facilities and avail themselves of the free bus services to reach the temple.
