A major data theft occurred at Tiger Baby Digital LLP. This Mumbai production house is co-owned by filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. An internal audit revealed that 119 hard drives were missing. The total value of the stolen data is estimated at 13 lakh rupees.

The stolen hard drives contained important production materials. These included raw footage, edited scenes, promotional content, and completed films. The matter came to light when employees noticed a cupboard was missing several drives. They also found partially burnt packaging boxes inside the storage space.

The police arrested an employee named Shahid Khan in connection with the crime. He was responsible for managing the storage cupboard. Khan reportedly confessed to stealing 24 hard drives over five months. He admitted to selling them for 15,000 to 20,000 rupees each. He sold the drives to a buyer in Borivali.

Tiger Baby Films was founded in 2015. It has produced famous projects like Gully Boy and Made In Heaven. The police are continuing their investigation into the massive data loss.

Luck by Chance in 2009 was Zoya’s debut. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was released two years later. Dil Dhadakne Do and The Archies happened much later.
