Actor Dhanush has unveiled the first-look poster of his upcoming movie, Thamizh Murugan. The imagery shows Dhanush riding an elephant in front of a massive army, standing tall while wielding a vel, the sacred spear associated with Lord Murugan.
Sharing the poster on social media, Dhanush wrote, “The Eternal Protector, warrior, THE KING & LEADER of the Thamizh people and lands. Son of Kottravai.” The striking poster has been receiving a thumping response from all quarters.
Thamizh Murugan marks the fifth collaboration between Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran. The powerhouse duo previously delivered major milestones in Tamil cinema. Their journey began with the action-thriller Polladhavan, followed by the critically acclaimed Aadukalam, which swept six National Film Awards, including Best Director and Best Actor. They later reunited for the raw, sprawling gangster epic Vada Chennai and the devastatingly powerful rural drama Asuran, which earned Dhanush yet another National Award for his performance. After Viduthalai movies with Vijay Sethupathi, Vetri has once again reunited with Dhanush.
This new period film is based on a story by writer Arivumathi, and the music will be composed by musical sensation Sai Abhyankkar.
