Shilpa’s mic was reportedly switched off, which left people upset and questioning Kutle Khan. Now, his manager Sharad Sharma, in an interview with News18, mentioned that each artist was given 15-20 minutes, whereas Khan was given only 10 minutes. According to the manager, when Khan was performing, Shilpa came back to the stage, saying she wanted to thank the fans, while the organizers came to Kutle Khan and asked him to start singing. He said:
“The festival team had allotted each artist 15-20 minutes onstage. But they chopped Khan saab’s performance time further. He was only given 10 minutes. But we were okay with it since they paid us. Shilpa finished her performance and left the stage. Once Khan saab began his set, she interrupted his performance and said that she would want to thank everyone.”
According to the manager, if Shilpa wanted to thank her fans, she should have done so after her show ended. The manager feels they should be upset about this because Shilpa disrupted Kutle Khan’s performance, which was already cut short to 10 minutes. Kutle Khan’s manager shared:
“Festival organizer, Deepak Chaudhary, came to us and told Khan saab to sing Dil Pe Zakham Khate Hain. He kept telling him ki start karo, start karo. We should instead be upset about his performance being disrupted by Shilpa. She should’ve thanked everyone at the end of her own performance. She went backstage and then came back when Khan saab was halfway through his set.”
The manager further revealed that Kutle Khan has no grudges against Shilpa Rao or anyone else. He criticized the claims, which he described as a false narrative against Kutle Khan. Sharad Sharma further alleged that Shilpa Rao’s PR team is spreading narratives that are portraying Kutle Khan as the one who interrupted her show, while the case was the other way around.
Sharad also added that Kutle Khan’s team could use social media to share their story but didn’t want to engage in such narratives. He further mentioned that the headliner, Himesh Reshammiya’s sound check that took three hours, causing delays that affected the performance slots of other artists.
Shilpa Rao revealed she was heartbroken after her performance was cut short
After Shilpa Rao’s performance was cut short, she took to her social media handle and released a statement, wherein she revealed she was heartbroken. The singer wrote that it hurts deeply to have something so beautiful taken away from artists like that.
In the note, Shilpa thanked her fans for continuing to support her and chant her name even after her performance was cut short. Shilpa said she could feel it all, while promising her fans she’d come back stronger, even though the story remained unfinished.
