HYDERABAD: Parent-teacher meetings across government schools saw strong participation, with more than 18 lakh parents receiving their children’s progress reports digitally through WhatsApp, alongside physical copies distributed in schools.

The meetings, conducted on the last working day of the academic year 2025–26, brought parents and teachers face to face to review each child’s academic progress, attendance, behaviour, and co-curricular performance. Teachers briefed parents on areas where their wards were doing well and where they needed support.

A senior official from the school education department said the digital report system was introduced “to ensure that every parent is informed about their child’s progress,” adding that it “will be continued in the forthcoming academic years also.”

The department said parents responded positively, especially to receiving report cards on their phones. Physical copies remained available for collection from schools.
