EXCLUSIVE: The Apprentice winner and cosmetic doctor to the stars, Dr Leah Totton, has revealed the treatment that is in huge demand from her celebrity clients this summer
Dr Leah Totton has revealed the new treatment her celebrity clients are chomping at the bit for this summer. While the salmon sperm craze and EmFace demand is still going strong, the 2013 winner of The Apprentice told us the exact new phenomenon that is set to sweep her clinics.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Dr Leah told us BBL and Moxi is the treatment her clients are desperate for this year. She said: “It’s like all of the celebs are having that at the minute. It’s a type of laser.
“We’ve literally launching it [soon] because the demand from our celebrity clients for it, who typically live in America but spend some time in the UK.”
Explaining what the treatment is, Dr Leah, who is a renowned medical doctor and highly accomplished cosmetic specialist and the founder of the award-winning Dr Leah Clinics, added: “BBL [Broadband Light] and Moxi is a type of non-invasive laser. I think that’s the number one trend in treatment currently, along with biostimulators for celebs.
BBL uses intense pulsed light to target unwanted brown pigment, freckles, age spots, and red areas like rosacea or broken capillaries, while Moxi uses a non-ablative fractional laser to create tiny micro-coagulation zones. This helps to prompt the body to rid itself of damaged cells and then build fresh collagen for a smoother surface.
She went on: “It essentially gives you a a glowing, flawless complexion. It’s what all of the celebrities are having. All of our celebrities clients are anyway.
“It’s massive in America. It’s an American brand that own it, so we’re just bringing it in now. But that’s been in response to our clients requesting it, which is rare because normally we bring in a treatment and we say you should have this, but our actual clients are coming to us requesting it.”
While there is a big request for the treatment, Dr Leah said EmFace is still high on the priority of many famous faces. It comes as the likes of Kim Kardashian, Rebel Wilson and Kelly Osbourne have all praised the procedure.
Dr Leah told us: “The reason they like it is it gives instant results and there’s no downtime. So it essentially stimulates the muscles of the face and improves lymph drainage so it sort of tones and tightens everything up, gives you a bit of sculpting and an immediate lift.”
She admits her London clinics complete the procedure for many people who are holiday bound. “They’ll do a course so you look really snatched and chiseled for holiday season or red carpet events,” she said.
“So any big event when it’s BAFTAs time, things like that, you normally can do it literally an hour or two before they’re going to be on a red carpet. It just gives an instant lift. If you do a full course, you can get that lift to last for around nine to 10 months.
“So it’s pretty good. It’s just the trend really now is towards no downtime treatments, or minimal downtime treatments in the UK at least. ,
The lifestyle of most people who are living and and working in the area I work these days is they really don’t have time for any downtime and EmFace is a good option because it’s instant and there’s no downtime. You can literally go for lunch, brunch, or for an event immediately after. It’s no recovery time.”
