IHG One Rewards Premier Select

If you’re an IHG loyalist or you stay with the brand at least once per quarter, the top-of-the-line Premier Select makes a compelling case for itself.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome bonus: Earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Offer ends Nov. 18.

According to TPG’s valuations, this welcome offer is worth $1,200. Since this is the first welcome bonus we’ve seen on this card, we can’t say how it will compare to future offers. However, issuers tend to provide a top-tier offer when a premium card launches, so it’s safe to say now is likely a good time to apply.

Annual fee: $350

Why we like it: The IHG One Rewards Premier Select is Chase’s newest card in the IHG lineup, geared toward those who strongly prefer IHG over other hotel brands. You’ll be able to earn up to 28 points per dollar spent at IHG properties, plus use up to $75 in food and beverage rewards each quarter at IHG hotels.

As is common with hotel cards of this caliber, you’ll receive one free anniversary night each year (worth up to 60,000 points). You’ll also receive 20 elite night credits every calendar year, enough to unlock their first Milestone Reward each year. And you’ll receive Platinum Elite status by default.

IHG One Rewards Premier

If you stay at IHG properties a few times a year, the IHG Premier may be the right choice for you.

IHG Premier
THE POINTS GUY

Welcome bonus: Earn 180,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Offer ends Nov. 18.

Per TPG’s valuations, this bonus is worth $1,080.

The best offer we have seen in the card’s history provided up to 300,000 points (in the form of five free nights valued at 60,000 points each; offer no longer available).

That said, the current welcome offer meets our threshold for when to apply, so we suggest going for the card now if you’re interested.

Annual fee: $150

Why we like it: Despite no longer being IHG’s top card, the Premier still offers a lot for cardholders. You’ll receive a 50,000-point anniversary free night, earn up to 24 points per dollar spent at IHG properties and receive up to $25 in quarterly food and beverage rewards to use at IHG hotels.

Cardholders receive automatic Gold Elite status, along with 15 elite night credits each year. You’ll receive two additional elite night credits for every $5,000 you spend on your card.

IHG One Rewards Card

If you only stay with IHG once or twice each year, IHG’s no-annual-fee introductory IHG One Rewards card may make the most sense for you.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome bonus: Earn 125,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Offer ends Nov. 18.

This bonus is worth $750, per TPG’s valuations.

The best offer we’ve seen in the card’s history was for two free nights and 40,000 bonus points (for a total of up to 140,000 bonus points; offer no longer available).

That means the current offer is close to the card’s best-ever, making now a solid time to apply.

Annual fee: $0

Why we like it: This card is a solid choice for anyone who likes IHG hotels but doesn’t stay at them often enough to justify an annual fee. The IHG One Rewards still earns up to 17 points per dollar spent at IHG, a compelling earning rate for cash bookings and incidental charges.

You’ll receive Silver Elite status and five elite night credits each year. And if you spend $5,000 on your card in a year, you’ll unlock IHG’s coveted fourth-night-free perk.

IHG One Rewards Business

If you own a business, you’ll want to consider the IHG One Rewards Business.

THE POINTS GUY

Welcome bonus: Earn 190,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Offer ends Nov. 18.

TPG’s valuations place this bonus at $1,140 in value, which far exceeds our minimum bonus for when to apply based on the card’s welcome offer history.

Annual fee: $200

Why we like it: Just like the mid-tier Premier, the Business card offers up to $25 in food and beverage rewards for use at IHG properties each quarter. You’ll earn slightly more points per dollar spent at IHG, up to 26 points per dollar spent.

In keeping with this card’s designation as a business card, you’ll receive up to $100 in statement credits every year toward Expensify purchases. You’ll receive automatic Platinum Elite status, plus an annual free night worth up to 50,000 points.

Application rules

You can have multiple IHG credit cards, but know that the IHG One Rewards cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule. This means if you’ve opened five or more personal credit card accounts across all banks in the last 24 months, Chase is unlikely to approve you.

Note that you also aren’t eligible if any of these exclusions apply to you:

  • For the Premier Select: If you currently have this specific card or have received a bonus on it in the past 24 months (this does not currently apply to anyone, as it is a new card).
  • For the two other personal cards: If you currently have a personal IHG One Rewards credit card (which includes the legacy IHG One Rewards Select Credit Card; no longer available to new applicants) or if you received a new cardholder bonus on any personal IHG credit card in the past 24 months.
  • For the IHG Business card: If you received a new cardholder bonus on this card in the last 24 months.

The information for the IHG One Rewards Select Credit Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Bottom line

All four of IHG’s credit cards have highly compelling welcome offers right now. Whether you’re a loyalist looking to boost every stay or an occasional IHG visitor just looking for a little extra comfort, one of these cards can be a great fit for your wallet.

Just make sure you fall within Chase’s application rules for its IHG cards, so you don’t miss out on hundreds of thousands of bonus points.
